Coach Bond finished her last season with Mizzou as the 7th leading scorer (17.2 ppg) in the Big 12; blasting past the 1000 point mile-marker, third in the Big 12 in steals (2.03 spg) and free-throw percentage (83.2%), and fourth in 3-point percentage (38.9%). She was the only guard among the Big 12's statistical leaders to make more than half (50%) of her shots from the field. She was named a Kodak/WBCA All-America Honorable Mention, a consensus All-Big 12 First Team selection, and was chosen by the league's coaches to the All-Big 12 Defensive Team. Coach Bond is one of only three players in Mizzou history to score 1,000 points and dish out 300 assists in a career.
LaToya Bond was selected by the Charlotte Sting in the second round (27th pick overall) of the 2006 WNBA Draft. She played all 34 games as a rookie and averaged 5.7 points, 1.4 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.03 steals per game. Her 2.15 apg ranked fourth among WNBA rookies and she averaged 4.8 assists per 40 minutes played, ranking second among
rookies that averaged double-digit minutes. She was one of just seven rookies in the WNBA to average a steal a game in 2006 and was sixth among the league's first-year players with 1.0 spg.
The Sting folded after the 2006 WNBA season, and LaToya Bond was selected by the Sacramento Monarchs in a dispersal draft. Before the start of the 2008 season she signed with the Indiana Fever.
Coach Bond has also played overseas for teams in Cyprus, Israel, and Poland. Following her first
season in the WNBA, she signed to play for EKA AEL Limassol in Cyprus, which had the best regular season record in the Cyprus Basketball League and later won the league championship. She started the 2007-08 winter season with B'nei Yehuda in Israel, then signed with MMKS Energa Katarzynki Torun in Poland where she averaged 12.2 ppg in 12 appearances. She played the 2009 winter season with Lider Pruszkow in Poland before ending her professional career.
Since ending her professional basketball career with the WNBA and internationally, Coach Bond has been volunteer coaching and providing one-on-one basketball training sessions to young athletes.
